1956-65 Vintage Antoine Courtois “Brevete” Flugelhorn S# 5461, Original Case/Finish/Mouthpiece. Condition is "Used".
I played this horn 2 years in college jazz and 6 in orchestra. Put it down 8 years ago. It should be in the hands of anyone from an intermediate to an advanced to even a professional.
My chops are gone but the sound and feel from this vintage flugelhorn is warm like a vinyl record.
Slides need oil. Finish isn’t immaculate. The previous owner was a professional musician, his fingerprints are on this flugelhorn, literally. I don’t remember the musician’s name but this was his first and only flugelhorn.
Mouthpiece is original!
The leather strap for the case is strong. The case is missing one latch and the strap is broken inside. Case still stays shut when moving about.
The Serial # indicates this Brevete was made between 1956-1965 at Amboise, and earlier in that run of production.
