51" Penny Farthing / High Wheel Bicycle

This bicycle was handmade 4-5 years ago by a small bike maker in Uruguay (southern tip of South America). It is a mostly accurate replica of an antique high wheel bike from the 1870-80's. Historically accurate replica bikes are a wonderful alternative to expensive antique bikes and are often better suited to everyday riding and parades.
I have owned this bike since it was new and only rode it occasionally. I dropped it off at a local Mennonite carriage wheel maker to have the glue-on tire replaced with an authentic wire-core tire however he was busy and then the pandemic arrived so it sat in his back room for about 2 years. It has some bumps and bruises to the antique white paint which helps it look the part as an antique however you are welcome to repaint it if you choose to.
The antique white paint does look great in photos.
I made the custom leather bag here in my saddle shop and added the vintage Brooks leather seat. The bike brings attention wherever it goes so be prepared for lots of smiles and cameras!
Please note, the small mini-penny bicycle is NOT INCLUDED. It is available in a separate listing. The 2 bikes display very well together and I might be able to work out a package deal if you want to buy both of them.
