Unger Brothers Sterling Cigarette Case – Naked Woman (Sailor’s Siren) on a Rock with Harp & WavesA fine example of Art Nouveau sterling silver craftmanship by a strong, manufacturing silversmith. High definition design. The naked Art Nouveau woman sitting on a rock with a harp, birds and waves. In Greek mythology, the Sirens were dangerous creatures, who lured nearby sailors with their enchanting music and singing voices to shipwreck on the rocky coast of their island. Marked STERLING .925 FINE. Two U/B hallmarks for Unger Brothers of Newark, New Jersey. Very good condition and unrepaired. No Monogram. The case closes with a snap and the springs that hold the cigarettes are strong. Measures 3 inches by 2 inches by ¾ inches. 48.6 grams.
