    Description

    Vintage Guatemalan .900 Silver Match Safe with what I believe are copper (not tested) inlays featuring a Quetzal Bird, the national bird of Guatemala.  The silver standard for Guatemala is .900, and this piece is marked "Guatemala Silver" but has not been tested for silver purity.  The surface has a hand hammered appearance. The piece weighs 32 g and is 2 1/4" x 1 1/2" x 1/2". Presented in a box from Guatemala as found in my grandfather's bureau.
    This piece is truly beautiful, the pictures do not do it justice.  In Used Estate/As Found condition, has not been cleaned except for the bottom which I gently cleaned to better see the mark.  Please see photos for additional condition information and feel free to send me a message with questions.
